Sometimes I’m like a bull in a china shop. I can’t help but knock things over with the slightest, unintentional movement.
Except this time, my movement was anything but unintentional. They were purposeful to be sure, but they lacked any modicum of foresight.

Most writers feel, at some point in their career, the need to tell their own story.
It’s probably safe to say that many non-writers feel the same. It’s as if writing our memoir - or a memoir, as it’s possible that more than one compelling narrative can flow from one life - is a journey that many feel strongly about taking but few embark upon.
There a many reasons why people fail to leave behind their life-story for future generations. Among them might be:
- They’re not writers
- They feel their life is too ordinary
- They don’t know how to get started
- They feel writing a book is vary daunting task
All may be true.
But that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s impossible. In a previous post, I mention William Zinsser’s book Writing About Your Life. In this post, I want to give you 5 tips from Zinsser that may give you, and others, cause to reconsider writing about your life.
