About Baz
Hello, I’m Barry Morris -‘Baz’ to my friends- and thanks for visiting.
Because I’ve been a writer all my life (I just didn’t know it until a few years back), I’ve always been drawn to matters of language and prose.
Like Stephen King is fond of saying:
“Writers to two things; they read a lot and write a lot.”
I’m no different- it’s in my blood.
About Me
I work during the day managing the proposal processes for a large US company headquartered conveniently near where I live on the Central Coast of California. It’s not my first career as I’ve been a surgeon, a college president, and online copywriter.
I’ve written two books and hundreds of articles of both print and online audiences. I also post periodically to Never Ask For Referrals. There is one blog dying-on-the-vine that supports my first book, Becoming Irresistible. Sad, but true. I just don’t have time to support it anymore.
I live with my 12-year old son, Justin, on the coast in Rio Del Mar, California - about 80 miles south of San Francisco. I also have three adult children, Bethany, Benjamin, and Jeremy, who are busy making their own way in the world.
And, uh…Baz?
It’s a nickname I picked up in England over 30 years ago when I was a free-wheeling, motorcycle riding lad of eighteen trying desperately to find myself. Duncan Robb, the eldest son in the Robb family, who took me in and nurtured me for almost 6 months, bestowed the name Baz on me almost immediately.
It’s a shortened form of Bazza which is a shortened form of Barry. Who knew?
