The race for the Presidency of the United States is heating up and polarizing this country into two groups.
One the right of the political spectrum you have the conservative Republican party led by nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona. He’s endorsed by such GOP stars as George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and that moose-hunter from Wasilla.
On the left, there is Senator Barack Obama of Illinois and Senator Joe Biden of Connecticut. They’re supported by Hillary Clinton, President Bill Clinton, President Jimmy Carter, Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the Democratic party.
I believe you ought be able to articulate why you support a certain candidate. In that regard, here are my reasons for supporting Barack Obama for President.
- America needs real change…a president who won’t trample the U.S. Constitution and bribe corporations at the expense of infringing on the rights of the people.
- America’s image around the world is in tatters.
- The US National debt is $9 trillion and growing by 1.84 billion each month…thanks to a totally needless war.
- 4000 lives lost in a totally needless war.
- 100,000 families of US military whose lives have been changed forever because of a totally needless war.
- As stated in the Old Testament book of Jeremiah, “Without a vision, the people perish.”
- John McCain has no vision (unless you count ’staying the course’ as a vision).
- Sarah Palin - the funniest political joke since Dan Quayle.
- The mortgage crisis that could’ve been prevented by a Republican led congress for the all the but the past 2 years.
- The meltdown of the financial markets thanks to Republican led industry deregulation efforts.
- The inability of George W. Bush to be a man (insert a Real Republican) and step up to the plate to tell the American people:
“Hey, the buck stops here. I screwed up and I take total responsibility (for things like the totally needless war, the lack of any real energy policy, or the failure of my so-called Bush Doctrine…that every Republican Vice Presidential candidate should have heard of by now).
